Right2Work is seeking a Learning Support Assistant to support the Future Choices programme, which is designed to enable individuals to make life choices. Our focus includes young people and adults looking to transition into employment, further education, and personal development.
Offering a blend of classroom and community activities, this programme provides tailored guidance, skill-building opportunities, and real-world work experience to help learners gain confidence, independence, and employability skills.
At Future Choices, we offer a blend of day service opportunities to promote personal development and social engagement, along with a Pre-Supported Internship element designed to help individuals transition into employment.
The programme aims to promote social engagement, life skills, and personal growth through enrichment activities and community participation, ensuring a well-rounded development for learners.
The Pre-Supported Internship provides a structured pathway for learners to develop essential workplace skills, gain hands-on experience, and build confidence in a supportive environment, laying the foundation for Right2Work's Supported Internship, which helps learners transition from education to work.
The Role
As a Learning Support Assistant, you will work three days a week at our offices in Barrow. Experience is not required as full training is provided. This role offers variety, working across a wide range of host employment and learning settings. It is an exciting opportunity to join an award-winning team, providing job satisfaction that is hard to find elsewhere.
Your responsibilities may include supporting with task completion, observations, creating prompts, checklists, task analysis, setting achievable targets, supporting communication and interview skills, and travel training where appropriate.
You will assist individuals with skills, qualifications, and job matching, liaise with learners and employers, and support learners to develop independence and reach their potential. Key tasks include working 1:1 with learners, group activities, travel training, observations, prompts, and collaborating closely with employers and training providers.
The Candidate
We seek candidates with transferable skills such as good organization, self-motivation, and determination to support success. Passion, commitment, and shared values about employment opportunities for disabled and disadvantaged people are essential.
You must hold a Full Driving License and have use of a vehicle for work. An Enhanced DBS check will be required (paid for by Right2Work, T&Cs apply).
