Planning Enforcement And Development Monitoring Officer – Nuneaton – £17.85/hr

Responsibilities
* Investigate complaints and alleged breaches of planning control, including site inspections, visits, observation and conducting interviews.
o Maintain full and accurate records of site visits and evidence collected.
o Give advice to alleged offenders and complainants on planning and enforcement procedures, including progress on complaints in line with policies and protocols.
o Check that planning conditions are complied with and negotiate with developers face‑to‑face, in writing and on the telephone for remedial action where required.
* Provide advice and information to the public and other customers on enforcement matters, via phone, in‑person, by letter, and internally by reports to others including legal services.
* Lead on less complex planning enforcement projects with support as appropriate.
* Assist in carrying out interviews and make accurate records under caution in accordance with procedures of the Police and Criminal Evidence Act 1984 or other related legislation.
* Draft and serve a range of enforcement notices, including Planning Contravention Notices, Breach of Condition Notices, Requisition for Information and Enforcement Notices, Temporary Stop Notices and Stop Notices.
* Prepare and give factual evidence at planning hearings, inquiries and court proceedings.
* Liaise with other sections of the Client to undertake and report on joint investigations.
* Assist in responding to requests for monitoring information including FOI/EIR requests.
* Assist in developing and maintaining systems to hold information.
* Contribute, when required, to the work of the Development Control Team.
* Contribute when required to other projects in the Unit’s work programme and, if appropriate, corporate projects.
Working Arrangement
Full‑time role on a temporary contract basis.
