Workshop Tutor - Welding
Location: Lancashire
Salary: Up to £41,000 per annum depending on qualifications and teaching experience.
Industry current: £32,000 - £34,000 per annum depending on experience.
Contract Type: Full time, Permanent
We are looking for a candidate with experience in welding processes and a passion for teaching. The role is based in Lancashire and is full‑time, permanent.
Experience & Skills
* MIG Welding
* TIG Welding
* MMA Welding
* Sheet Metal
* Other relevant engineering or fabrication experience
Industry candidates are welcome. A Level 3 qualification in Welding or a related subject is required. Full training and support to achieve relevant teaching qualifications can be provided.
Responsibilities
* Train apprentices in the workshop to develop knowledge, skills, and behaviours to industry standard
* Plan and deliver high‑quality practical workshop sessions
* Prepare learning materials and resources
* Complete assessments in line with Awarding Body and EPAO requirements
* Work closely with assessors and training staff to monitor apprentice progress and achievement
* Contribute to regular learner progress reviews
Qualifications & Requirements
* Substantial current industry experience and knowledge within engineering and welding
* Level 3 qualification (or equivalent) in Welding, Fabrication, or a relevant engineering subject
* Teaching qualification at Level 3 or above, or willingness to work towards one
* A1 qualification (desirable)
