Responsible for applying finishes to specialist timber products like doors, frames and joinery. Experienced with specialist spray equipment and techniques to achieve a high-quality, durable finish, working in a dedicated spray booth. This role requires attention to detail, knowledge of different paints and finishes, and the ability to maintain equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
* Surface Preparation: Preparing joinery items for painting by sanding, filling, and priming.
* Paint Application: Applying paint or other finishes using spray equipment, ensuring even coverage and a smooth finish.
* Colour Matching: Mixing paints and stains to achieve the desired colour and match existing finishes.
* Equipment Maintenance: Cleaning and maintaining spray equipment, ensuring it is in good working order.
* Safety Practices: Following safety procedures in the spray booth, including wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
* Quality Control: Inspecting finished products to ensure they meet quality standards.
Skills and Experience:
* Experience: Prior experience in a paint spraying role, particularly within a joinery or woodworking environment, is often preferred.
* Spray Equipment Knowledge: Familiarity with different types of spray equipment (e.g., airless, HVLP) and their operation.
* Paint and Finish Knowledge: Understanding of different types of paints, lacquers, and stains, and their application.
* Attention to Detail: Ability to achieve a high-quality finish and match colours accurately.
* Manual Dexterity: Good hand-eye coordination and the ability to work with precision.
* Problem-Solving: Ability to troubleshoot issues with equipment or finishes.
