Account Director - Associations & Banqueting - Sutton Coldfield
We have a fantastic opportunity for a new role as Account Director - Associations & Banqueting to work in our dynamic Sales team at The Belfry, England's leading Hotel and Resort, who recently won the miaList Best Sales and Marketing Team, a testament to their excellent customer relationships and results-driven work ethic. We have an exciting year ahead at The Belfry, with hosting The British Masters in August 2024, and continuing with the extensive investment to the Resort.
The Belfry has 320 bedrooms, 22 function rooms. 2 Rosette standard dining, five food and beverage outlets, fantastic leisure facilities including our 20 treatment rooms & pool and of course, what we are famous for...golf.
About the Role
As an Account Director, you will play a vital role in representing our renowned resort and be part of the launch of exciting expansion. You will identify and secure new opportunities and accounts specialising within the association and banqueting markets, along with other MICE and Group related segments. This resort based role comes with a competitive salary, as well as car allowance and annual bonus scheme.
Key responsibilities include:
Actively prospect for new business opportunities within the defined customer segment, aligned with The Belfry's business plan.
Drive revenue growth, and win additional events at The Belfry. Supporting the conversion of sales leads through effective communication, conduct site visits, and provide exceptional customer service.
Actively promote The Belfry through participation at industry exhibitions, client events, networking opportunities, and familiarisation visits.
Implementing strategic account plans to achieve targets and maximise productivity.
Representing The Belfry by engaging in relevant industry associations, contributing to their membership and activities.
Cultivating valuable relationships with suppliers and external partners to position The Belfry as a key customer and partner within the industry.
Identifying and seizing opportunities for profit, client value creation, and innovative solutions.
Evaluate the effectiveness of account development efforts and make recommendations for future objectives and plans.
Collaborate with the Sales Director to recommend future business and pricing structures.
Provide support and collaborate with the on-site Events Team ,
About you
At The Belfry, we are committed to your professional growth and success. The ideal candidate for this role will have a proven track record in sales & account management with a minimum of 5 years sales experience within the hotel industry. Be able to demonstrate success in developing and maintaining client relationships within the association and large banqueting markets. Working within a large sales team, you will be a collaborative and supportive team player, with the ability to bring positivity and energy to help continue the team's success.
In addition, you will have:
Familiarity with industry exhibitions, networking events, and client engagement.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage and influence a wide range of stakeholders.
The ability to conduct effective resort visits, understanding and addressing client requirements.
Experience in utilising relevant software and systems such as Sales Force and Delphi and Opera.
The ability to represent the company at industry associations and events.
A passion for achieving targets and exceeding expectations.
Strong analytical skills to evaluate performance, identify areas for improvement, and develop effective strategies.
The ability to manage a portfolio of accounts, drive revenue growth, and maximise profitability.
Knowledge of large conference & event venues within the UK with whom the Resort competes.
