Finance Assistant Permanent Vyoma Gandhi - vyoma.gandhi@boots.com About the role This is an exciting opportunity to join our finance Order to Cash (O2C) team as a Cash Management Finance Assistant. You will be responsible for overseeing and optimising the management of incoming cash flows and ensuring accurate reconciliation. You will collaborate with various departments to ensure that receipts are reconciled correctly and efficiently, contributing to the overall financial health of the organisation. The role offers the opportunity to develop a broad understanding of our business and would be suited to someone who is looking to develop their skills within finance. Key responsibilities Working in Enterprise Finance Services (EFS) who sit within the wider finance team and will be reporting into the Finance Manager. Key responsibilities of the role: Cash Application: o Process incoming payments from customers, ensuring accurate and timely application of cash to customer accounts. Reconcile payments against open invoices, escalating discrepancies for payment-related issues. Store Account Reconciliation: Perform regular reconciliations of store accounts, ensuring that transactions are accurately recorded and that any discrepancies are promptly investigated and resolved. Reporting and Reconciliation: Prepare and maintain regular cash management reports and measurements to assess the effectiveness of cash management practices. Reconcile bank statements with accounting records, ensuring proper accounting treatment for all cash transactions. Collections Support: Support the collections team by providing them with accurate payment status and open account balances. Help resolve any discrepancies between payments received and outstanding receivables. Customer and Internal Communication: Communicate effectively with customers to resolve payment issues, such as unapplied cash. Collaborate with other departments (Sales, Customer Service, Credit Control) to ensure agreement and resolve any issues related to payments or orders. Compliance and Audit: Ensure compliance with internal controls, company policies, and financial regulations related to cash management and accounts receivable. Help with internal and external audits as required, providing necessary documentation and support for cash-related inquiries. What you'll need to have The successful candidate will need the following: · High attention to detail · Confident in talking to external and internal customers · Working to deadlines · Working on own initiative · Strong team work ethic · Microsoft Excel experience · Curious and investigative nature It would be great if you also have These are desirable skills or experience and are not essential, so we would welcome applications from candidates that don't match this additional criteria. · Previous SAP experience · A minimum of a foundation level qualification in finance.
