The Role: CoMind is building a high-performing Finance function to underpin the next phase of our growth. We are seeking an ambitious finance professional who will take ownership of financial operations, generate high-quality reporting and analysis, and help design and implement new financial systems and processes as we move towards product launch. Reporting to the CFO, you will provide insight, rigour, and operational excellence. Currently supported by external accounting and tax partners, you will help bring this activity in-house. This is an opportunity to have a genuine impact in a rapidly changing organisation and to help shape the future of the Finance function. At CoMind, all team members work at least 4 days per week from our new Kings Cross offices, plus a flexible work-from-home day. Responsibilities: Become the “face of finance” for CoMind - be the first point of contact for all internal and external finance stakeholders Own UK and US financial operations and consolidation, keeping everything running smoothly and confidently Drive a fast, accurate month-end close Turn numbers into insight — deliver sharp commentary and analysis for monthly/quarterly management, board and debt packs Streamline expenses purchasing invoicing payment workflows to keep CoMind moving forward Oversee payroll, VAT, cash management and FX as we grow internationally Manage year-end and other audit delivery with a proactive, organised approach Generate data and analysis for R&D tax credit and research grant claims Help build the finance team through recruiting and mentoring other team members, driving a culture of excellence and high performance Develop new systems and processes as we migrate to a scalable ERP system, ensuring appropriate controls and compliance Skills & Experience: 5 years working in a dynamic, startup environment Ambitious with proven leadership of growth and change, including building and leading teams A love for “getting things done” and able to move from high level strategic projects to detailed operational activities Professional accounting qualification (e.g. CIMA, ACCA, ACA) Strong command of accounting ops — POs, invoicing, banking, balance sheet schedules, reconciliations Confident across month-end/year-end reporting, consolidations, FX, payroll, tax, audits You enjoy improving systems, automating to focus on value add, and building for scale Experience designing and implementing new systems Exposure to US and other international entities is advantageous Benefits: Company equity plan so all employees share in the success of the company Salary-sacrifice pension scheme Private medical, dental and vision insurance (medical history disregarded) Group life assurance at 4x annual income Comprehensive mental health support, including unlimited access to 1:1 sessions with trained professionals Unlimited holiday allowance ( bank holidays) and one week of remote working per quarter Free lunch every day via JustEat and free dinner on those days where you need to work later Twice weekly deliveries of fresh fruit and a comprehensive selection of snacks and drinks YuLife subscription, allowing you to turn your daily steps and meditation into discounts at a range of stores Access to Udemy for upskilling and professional development
