We are a 4 partner GP practice in the heart of Loughton looking for a part time Health care assistant to join our existing friendly team.
We care for around 10,500 patients and have a fantastic support team including 5 GPs, 3 Practice Nurses, a HCA, Pharmacists, a Social Prescriber, and a First Contact Physiotherapist. You would be joining a group who work closely to support each other and enjoy what we do.
Main duties of the job
* Wound care/dressings
* ECGs
* Diabetic Foot Checks
* B12 and Flu Injections
* Urinalysis
* Opportunity to assist clinicians in minor surgery and well woman clinics

Job responsibilities
* New Patient Health checks
* CVD Risk Health checks
* Testing urine samples
* Administer flu and pneumonia vaccines where appropriate
* Re-dress wounds
* Diabetic foot checks
* ECGs
* Ear syringing
* Organise clinics including stock check, booking patients, administration/paperwork
* Minor Surgery
* Hormone implants
* 24 Hour blood pressure monitoring
* Perform administrative duties and undertake other duties as may be required
Person Specification
* Trained to NVQ level 2
* Numerate/literate with legible handwriting
* Basic computer knowledge
* Neat and tidy appearance
* Ability to multi task and work within a team
* Ability to remain calm under pressure
* Accurate typing skills and record keeping
* Understanding of the NHS
* Experience in working with EMIS Web
* Experience with clinical system in primary care
* Ability to work extra hours on occasion if needed
