We have an exciting role for a Math Modeller to work within the Lethality and Requirements Authority team. You'll be working with a team of 25 skilled engineers involved in modelling and lethality performance assessment, and the specification of lethal packages, which are comprised of Fuzing and Warhead sub-systems.
Salary
Circa £51,000 - £59,000 depending on experience
Dynamic (hybrid) working
3 days per week on-site due to workload classification

British Citizen or a Dual UK national with British citizenship. Restrictions and/or limitations relating to nationality and/or rights to work may apply. All successful candidates will need to undergo HMG Basic Personnel Security Standard checks (BPSS).

The opportunity
As a Math Modeller within the Complex Warhead Centre of Excellence (CW CofEx), you will report to the Head of Lethality. Your activities will include developing lethality models, performance algorithm optimisation, and data analysis tools with visualisation in MATLAB.

* Degree in a numerate discipline
* Experience in mathematical modelling
* Proven track record of delivery
* Strong problem-solving skills and strategic thinking
* Ability to build relationships with customers and partners
Additional responsibilities:
* Lead studies to enhance weapon performance
* Innovate to meet emerging needs and participate in research programs
* Own missile kill probability assessments and coordinate with related domains
* Coordinate with subcontractors and internal teams for quality and integration
* Liaise with MoD and research agencies to ensure satisfaction
* Present capabilities to internal and external stakeholders
