Orthoptic Service
Part-time permanent Advanced Paediatric Orthoptist Band 7 0.4WTE (14.8 hours/2 days per week)
Please note: As this post is part-time, the salary will be pro-rata.
A part time advanced paediatric orthoptist vacancy has arisen for an orthoptist who has a wide range of orthoptic experience to join our team to deliver core and sub speciality orthoptic practice predominately based at the Princess Alexandra Eye Pavilion where the service handles a varied caseload of paediatric and adult motility.
The candidate will be expected to have significant post graduate orthoptic experience that includes complex care in paediatric patients attending Orthoptic led and paediatric ophthalmology clinics.
The successful candidate is expected to be enthusiastic, a team player, reflective, innovative and have good interpersonal skills. Prior experience of mentoring Orthoptic staff would be desirable.
The department actively participates in CPD and audit.
A diploma/degree in Orthoptics, HCPC registration and evidence of training to Masters level in sub specialist area or equivalent experience are essential.

This post requires the post holder to have a PVG Scheme membership/record. If the post holder is not a current PVG member for the required regulatory group (i.e. child and/or adult) then an application will need to be made to Disclosure Scotland and deemed satisfactory before they can begin in post.

If the post is assessed as a "regulated role", your appointment will be subject to joining the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme.
