Overview
We are looking for an experienced, motivated, and compassionate nurse to join our team as a Specialist Urology Cancer CNS, supporting patients across the entire pathway, including those living with metastatic disease. This is a dynamic and rewarding role where you will act as a key worker, providing expert clinical care alongside vital psychological support to patients and their families. You will play a central role in coordinating care across the multidisciplinary team, ensuring patients receive seamless, high-quality, and person-centred care when they need it most. You will have the opportunity to lead and develop nurse-led services, shaping the future of urology cancer care within the organisation. This includes driving innovation in clinical practice, contributing to education and training, and maintaining and advancing your diagnostic and therapeutic expertise. As part of this role, you will also contribute to ongoing service development, ensuring care delivery aligns with national cancer standards. Through active involvement in audit, evaluation, and continuous improvement, you will help enhance outcomes and patient experience.
Responsibilities

* Provide expert specialist nursing care for patients with metastatic disease.
* Act as a named key worker, offering ongoing clinical, emotional, and psychological support to patients and their families/carers.
* Coordinate complex care pathways, ensuring timely access to investigations, treatments, follow-up, and supportive services.
* Work as an integral member of the multidisciplinary team (MDT), contributing specialist nursing expertise to treatment planning and decision-making.
* Undertake clinical assessment, including recognition and management of treatment-related complications.
* Provide specialist advice and education to patients, carers, and healthcare professionals to support informed decision-making and self-management.
* Support patients with metastatic and advanced disease, including symptom management, escalation of care needs, and palliative care coordination where appropriate.
* Maintain high-level communication across primary, secondary, and tertiary care settings to ensure continuity and consistency of care.
* Contribute to service development, pathway redesign, and quality improvement initiatives within urology cancer services.
* Participate in and lead audit, evaluation, and data collection to ensure compliance with national cancer standards and best practice guidelines.
* Deliver and support education and training for staff, contributing to the development of nursing and multidisciplinary practice.
