Psychological Therapist: Systemic Family Therapist

The Tees Esk and Wear Valleys NHS Foundation Trust is recruiting a Specialist Family and Systemic Psychotherapist to join our Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS) in Hartlepool. The role involves working in the community within a supportive and collaborative multidisciplinary team to provide specialist assessment, formulation, and interventions to young people and their families experiencing a wide range of mental health difficulties.
The successful applicant will offer advice, consultation, supervision and training to other members of the CAMHS team and will play a key role in continuing to develop the multidisciplinary and multi‑agency working of the teams.

Responsibilities
* Provide assessments, and therapeutic, consultative and advisory services for children, young people, their families and carers, including urgent, highly pressured and complex situations;
* Deliver direct clinical work, consultation and when necessary clinical supervision to other team members;
* Work within CAMHS services, demonstrating strong trauma‑informed values;
* Encourage and develop special interests and co‑work opportunities;
* Undertake service development activities;
* Provide family and systemic psychotherapy provision in complex cases;
* Provide systemic supervision and staff training.
Person Specification
Qualifications
* Completion of qualifying level training in Family and Systemic Psychotherapy (Master's Level Training Course accredited by the Association for Family and Systemic Psychotherapy)
* Full accreditation as a Family and Systemic Psychotherapist with UK Council for Psychotherapy and the Association for Family and Systemic Psychotherapy
* Evidence of continuing professional development
* Trained in systemic supervision
Knowledge
* Evidence‑based practice relevant to the role
* Risk assessment and risk management
* Awareness of systemic barriers to accessing psychological services/healthcare for minoritized communities
* Clinical governance
* Legislation in relation to the client group and mental health
Experience
* Experience working within mental health services and delivering family and systemic psychotherapy within the designated service area and speciality
* Experience discussing and responding to issues related to cultural diversity, intersectionality and inclusivity, including working with vulnerable groups (e.g. those for whom English is not first language)
* Experience working with multidisciplinary teams
* Assessing and managing risk of self‑harm/suicide
* Experience of family and systemic psychotherapy provision in complex cases
* Experience providing systemic supervision
* Experience delivering staff training
