We have three officer posts available: two in Norwich, one at Chelmsford EOC. Please specify which location you would like to be considered for at the top of your ‘Supporting Information’ section.
Responsibilities
* Support day‑to‑day service asset and configuration management activities, including imaging, deployment, asset tracking and recovery.
* Stock control and replenishment across multiple sites.
* Respond to equipment requests in line with service standards.
* Conduct site visits for inventory audits, update the CMDB and other asset records.
* Secure receipt, handover and dispatch of assets, maintaining audit trail in the CMDB.
* Assist with the secure disposal of obsolete equipment.
* Participate in the wider Digital Live Services team, collaborating with clinical, operational and administrative staff.
* Commit to an on‑call rota as required; the role is fully on‑site based.
* Support continuous improvement, ensuring digital services align with clinical and corporate needs across EEAST.
Technical and Asset Responsibilities
* Deliver the EEAST SACM service: trust‑wide imaging, configuration and deployment of IT hardware.
* Wipe, decommission and arrange secure disposal of equipment.
* Maintain databases, CMDB and IT asset systems (e.g. ITSM/ESM tools).
* Manage local stock and support audit readiness.
* Assist in user hardware onboarding and off‑boarding, travelling to user bases as needed.
Service Support and Administrative Duties
* Maintain records in accordance with EEAST and IG standards.
* Prepare and distribute devices with basic user guidance.
* Respond to user requests (e.g. passwords, registration authority tasks, patches).
* Manage reception/telephony duties and escalations.
* Update databases with configuration changes; keep a full audit trail in ITSM/ESM tools.
Collaboration with the Digital Service Desk
* Assist the Service Desk during high demand periods, responding to routine service requests and incidents.
* Monitor designated queues and escalates urgent or misrouted items.
* Provide configuration or asset input to streamline ticket resolution.
* Offer operational cover to the Digital Service Desk during planned or unplanned absences.
Working Conditions
* Use of personal car with business insurance; travel to all 130+ EEAST sites.
* Requirements to drive, carry heavy equipment, work under desks, at heights and in confined spaces.
* Adhere to all EEAST procedures including health & safety.
* Carry out other delegated duties as required by the SACM Manager or Operational Lead.
Person Specification – Essential
* GCSEs or equivalent (including English and Maths).
* IT qualification (e.g. ECDL, level 2/3 apprenticeship in IT).
* Experience in IT support or asset management as part of a team.
* Experience of labelling, tracking and updating hardware records accurately in asset registers or CMDB tools.
* Experience of analysing data to troubleshoot issues.
* Working knowledge of IT hardware, software and operating systems.
* Good organisational, communication and customer service skills.
* Advanced IT skills for configuration and troubleshooting.
* Proven ability to work independently, prioritising workload.
* Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
* Attention to detail in record keeping and audit logs.
* Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel.
Person Specification – Desirable
* ITIL Foundation.
* Working knowledge of MDM solutions and support of iOS devices.
* Flexible, cooperative and team‑focused attitude.
* Ability to communicate technical information to non‑technical staff.
