Accounts Senior – Practice
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Accounts Senior to join a dynamic and growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for a technically strong and client-focused professional who enjoys working with a varied portfolio and tackling complex accounting work.
As an Accounts Senior, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality accounting services to a diverse client base. You will be a proactive and approachable individual, confident in understanding client needs and providing exceptional service.
Key Responsibilities
1. Manage a portfolio of clients, ensuring accuracy and compliance across all financial reporting and submissions
2. Prepare and submit year-end accounts, Corporation Tax computations, VAT returns, and Confirmation Statements
3. Build and maintain strong relationships with both new and existing clients
4. Manage client expectations and provide clear, professional communication
5. Review work prepared by junior team members, providing guidance, training, and constructive feedback
6. Support and mentor junior staff to aid their professional development
7. Contribute to improving internal processes and workflows to enhance efficiency and accuracy
8. Maintain high-quality standards across all client files
Key Requirements
9. Qualified or part-qualified accountant (ACCA / ACA / AAT)
10. Proven experience within an accountancy practice environment
11. Strong technical accounting knowledge and ability to handle complex accounts
12. Proficiency in accounting software
Additional Skills & Experience
13. Experience managing and/or mentoring junior team members
14. Strong interpersonal and communication skills
15. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
16. Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines
17. High attention to detail with a focus on accuracy and quality
18. Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
19. Strong client service mindset with the ability to understand and respond to client needs
20. Self-motivated, dependable, and able to work with minimal supervision
21. Maintains strict confidentiality and adheres to professional ethical standards
