Position: Biology Teacher Location: Shrewsbury Contract: Full-Time Start Date: September Key Stages: KS3–KS5 Specialist Biology Role in a Well-Established Science Department A well-established high school in Shrewsbury is seeking to appoint a Biology Teacher to join its Science department from September. This role offers the opportunity to teach Biology as a specialism while contributing to general Science teaching across the lower years. Biology is a popular subject within the school, with strong uptake at GCSE and A-Level. The department supports a structured curriculum and encourages students to develop scientific thinking through both theory and practical investigation. About the Role You will primarily teach Biology across Key Stage 4, with the opportunity to deliver A-Level Biology at Key Stage 5 depending on experience. In addition, you may contribute to teaching general Science at Key Stage 3. Lessons will focus on developing students’ understanding of biological systems, including cell biology, human biology, ecology, and genetics. Practical laboratory work forms an important part of the curriculum, allowing students to apply their knowledge through investigation and experimentation. You will work as part of a collaborative Science department that shares planning resources and supports consistent delivery across year groups.
