Join our dedicated Student and Library Services team as a Retention Support Officer, where you'll provide one-to-one support for students facing mental health or welfare challenges, respond to urgent incidents, and deliver tailored support for care experienced students. This is a vital role in enhancing student wellbeing and shaping inclusive, responsive support services across the university.
We are looking for someone who:
* Has experience providing one-to-one support to individuals with mental health, wellbeing, or welfare needs.
* Can respond calmly and effectively to urgent situations and incidents involving student wellbeing and welfare.
* Understands the challenges faced by care experienced students and can provide tailored support to meet their needs.
* Is empathetic, approachable, and able to build trust with a diverse student population.
* Can work collaboratively with colleagues across student services and the wider university.
* Is proactive in identifying service improvements and contributing to the development of inclusive support strategies.
* Can provide pastoral level support to a wide range of students
The position we are filling is exempt from the provisions of the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act and a satisfactory DBS disclosure from the Disclosure and Barring Service is required as part of our clearance procedures.
