Description Salary £44,711 - £49,764 per annum | Permanent | Full Time, 37 hours per week | Preston International Sponsorship – this role is not open to international sponsorship With approximately 7,000 km of highways and a comprehensive public footway network, Lancashire County Council oversees and maintains numerous bridges, retaining walls, and other highway structures. Our significant investment in infrastructure creates a high demand for our services. Join us as a Lead Engineer (Bridges) to manage the design, assessment, and construction of highway structures across Lancashire. You will: Manage and coordinate a team of dedicated engineers Develop, oversee and monitor the works programme to ensure activity is sufficiently resources and a robust plan is in plan to deliver on time and within budget. You’ll collaborate with our operational teams to ensure we are delivering an efficient service. Provide technical expertise and advice to internal and external stakeholders Our ideal applicant will have: A good working knowledge of current standards relating to the design, assessment, and construction of highway structures. You’ll bring a wealth of technical knowledge developed through your degree in civil engineering or a related subject. Experience of managing a team in delivering projects to budget and programme Excellent communication skills and take a customer focused approach to service delivery You will be required to provide a car for use in connection with the duties of this post and must be insured for business use.
