We're looking for confident and adaptable Cover Supervisors to support secondary schools across Retford. You'll step into classrooms when teachers are absent, keep students focused, manage behaviour positively, and make sure learning stays on track. No teaching qualification needed, just strong communication skills, a calm approach, and the confidence to lead a room full of teenagers before they've had their second break-time snack.
Whether you're an aspiring teacher, a graduate looking for school experience, a youth worker, sports coach, tutor, or someone who simply thrives working with young people, this could be your perfect next step.
And honestly? No two days are the same. One minute you're supervising a Year 8 science lesson, the next you're helping a Year 10 class tackle Shakespeare while trying to convince them Romeo really was dramatic.
What you'll be doing
* Supervising pre-set lessons across a range of subjects
* Managing classroom behaviour and keeping students engaged
* Supporting pupils with questions and encouraging participation
* Ensuring a safe, positive, and productive learning environment
* Reporting back to teaching staff after lessons
* Building strong relationships with students and school staff

* Experience working with children or teenagers, in schools, coaching, mentoring, tutoring, camps, youth work or similar settings
* The ability to think on your feet and adapt quickly
