Salary: £32,000 – £38,000 + Progression

Are you an ambitious Semi Senior Accountant or experienced Cloud Bookkeeper looking to take the next step in your career? The Role: What You’ll Be Doing
As a key member of the team, you will take ownership of a portfolio of small business clients, supporting both bookkeeping and accounts preparation.
Key responsibilities include:
* Managing client bookkeeping using cloud accounting software
* Liaising directly with clients via email and telephone
* Preparing and submitting VAT returns
* Assisting with Making Tax Digital (MTD) processes and development
* Supporting senior accountants with:
o Accounts preparation up to trial balance
o Potential production of management accounts
* Ensuring deadlines are met and maintaining high accuracy standards
* Occasional travel to client sites to collect records
About You: Skills & Experience Required
To succeed in this role, you will bring a strong foundation in UK accountancy practice and a proactive approach to client service.
Essential requirements:
* Minimum 3 years’ experience within a UK accountancy practice
* Proven experience preparing accounts for:
o Sole traders
o Limited companies
o Partnerships
* Strong working knowledge of cloud‑based accounting software, ideally including:
o Xero
o Sage Business Cloud
o QuickBooks
o FreeAgent
* Excellent understanding of bookkeeping and accounts preparation processes
* Ability to work independently, manage workload, and meet deadlines
* Strong communication and organisational skills
* High level of attention to detail
Additional requirements:
* Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle (required for occasional client visits)
