We are looking for an enthusiastic and passionate senior support worker to provide care to a range of service users and support them with their needs. The service is based in Ammanford, providing 24/7 care to service users. This could include those with learning disabilities, autism, complex needs, and challenging behaviour. Their service users are typically very active and enjoy getting out into the community for activities such as bowling, the cinema, and singing and dancing.
Your new role:
In your role as senior support worker, you will be providing support to a range of ages and personalities, promoting their individuality, and enabling them to live in line with their support plans. You will be involved in social, educational, and work activities to help promote the service users' social, emotional, cultural, and physical well-being. The role includes personal care, general housekeeping, and domestic duties. Shifts can vary, including days and nights, with long days, wakeful nights, and potential sleep-ins.
What you'll need to succeed:
To succeed as a senior support worker, you will need at least 6 months experience in a social care role within the last 2 years, with desirable experience in the learning disabilities field. A QCF level 3 in health and social care or current progress towards it is required. You should be passionate about supporting people, flexible, adaptable, and able to build trust and strong relationships through a caring approach.
