Position: Social Worker Team: Single Assessment Team Contract: Locum, 3 months Hours: 37 hours per week Pay Rate: Up to £38 per hour Location: 93 Charles Street, Halford Street, LE1 1HA Working Pattern: Hybrid – office days Tuesday and Thursday Sheldon Phillips are working with Leicester City Council to support recruitment within their frontline Single Assessment Team. This team provides the first point of contact for all new referrals, carrying out initial assessments and analysing presenting risks to ensure children and families receive the right intervention at the right time. What You Can Expect: Frontline work within a well-structured, fast-paced team Hybrid working arrangement with set office days for consistency Supportive management and regular reflective supervision Clear processes in place for threshold decisions and escalation Collaborative working with internal and external partners Duties and Responsibilities: Completing initial assessments for new referrals under Section 17 and Section 47 Gathering, analysing and recording information to inform risk and safety planning Direct work with children and families to understand lived experience Liaising with partner agencies and attending multi-agency meetings Preparing clear, evidence-based reports to inform decision making Ensuring timely case progression in line with statutory frameworks Using the council’s case management system accurately and efficiently Requirements: SWE Registration Social Work qualification Strong post-qualified experience in assessment or frontline services Robust safeguarding and analytical assessment skills Multi-agency working experience Ability to work flexibly and manage competing priorities If you’re an experienced assessment social worker looking for a stable, supportive team with a clear hybrid pattern, we’d love to hear from you.
