Offer description

Help us keep our communities safe - Fire & Building Safety Officer (full time, 35 hours per week)

At Great Places Housing Group, our mission is simple: to create great homes, support people, and build thriving communities. As a Fire & Building Safety Officer, you’ll play a vital role in keeping residents safe, ensuring our buildings meet the highest safety standards, and making a real difference every day. This hybrid role offers variety — you’ll visit sites across our property portfolio, from Manchester up to Blackburn and across to Sheffield, work from home, and join your team in Didsbury one day a week.

You’ll also benefit from funded training and development — for example, our colleagues are currently undertaking qualifications such as CIOB Level 6 Diploma in Building Safety Management and other relevant courses to support their career growth. We also offer an exciting Car Benefit Scheme, allowing you to choose a brand-new electric or plug-in hybrid car through salary sacrifice. This covers insurance, routine servicing and maintenance, tyres, road tax (if applicable), and RAC breakdown cover — all for a fixed monthly amount.

Every day you’ll be doing meaningful work that contributes to safer homes and stronger communities, all within an inclusive, supportive team that values integrity, diversity, and respect. It’s an ideal role for someone with strong fire or building safety experience — particularly suited to those from a Fire Service background who want to apply their technical expertise and public safety mindset in a rewarding housing environment.
