Role: Social Housing Solicitor Director
Leading law firm seeking a dedicated and experienced Social Housing Solicitor / Director for a highly sought permanent position.

Housing Department Background:
The Housing team, ranked by The Legal 500, provides assistance on all housing issues to landlords and tenants. Their experienced practitioners resolve disputes efficiently, offering lawyer-supported dispute resolution or ADR for housing disrepair cases. The department represents clients in courts for unlawful eviction, possession proceedings, and judicial review in homelessness cases.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
* Report to and collaborate with the Board to meet performance targets
* Oversee all aspects of Housing work, providing technical guidance to team members
* Extensive experience in representing clients under the Housing Court Duty Scheme in the last 2 years
* Manage and supervise Solicitors, Trainee Solicitors, and Caseworkers, handling appropriate caseloads
* Assist with training and development within the department
* Handle a variety of housing cases including Homelessness, Disrepair, Eviction, Possession, Property Disputes, Succession, Housing adaptations, Social Housing, and Neighborhood issues, including advocacy
* Manage emergency cases and strategic litigation
* Prepare and manage funding applications to the Legal Aid Agency
* Draft documents, witness statements, and process evidence
* Maintain a proactive professional approach, excellent client care, and contribute to Business Development and Marketing efforts
Key Skills Required:
* 3+ years PQE with proven housing and litigation experience, including court representation
* Experience as Duty Advisor under the Housing Possession Court Duty Scheme in the last 2 years
* Willingness to work towards the 2013 SQM Supervisor standard in Housing
* Experience in welfare rights and community care issues
* Valid Practicing Certificate
* Strong management and supervisory skills
* Team player with fair approach to team concerns, fostering positive change, and encouraging cross-referrals
* Proactive professional with excellent client care skills, capable of handling vulnerable clients sensitively
* Strong networking, communication, and marketing skills to generate new business
* Knowledge of publicly funded housing work and ability to handle private cases
* Extensive experience in all housing-related work; advocacy skills are an advantage
* Excellent IT skills, including Microsoft Office and document management
* Legal sector experience preferred
* Ability to manage social media activities for the firm
