About N3W ANGLE
N3W ANGLE was created by people who know what it means to get it wrong - and how to turn it around.
We work with vulnerable young people at risk of exploitation, violence, and disengagement. Through mentoring, workshops, and sport, we help young people change how they think - so they can re-write their story.
Since 2024, we’ve worked with over 2,000 young people across Reading, partnering with schools, youth justice services and local authorities.
Our work is real. It’s relational. And it’s rooted in lived experience.
The Opportunity
We are looking for a Senior Mentor & Sports Coach to join our growing team.
This is not a typical youth work role.
You will work with some of the hardest-to-reach young people - those who are disengaged from school, exposed to risk, and often mistrust services.
Your role is to connect where others can’t.
Using mentoring and sport (particularly boxing and fitness), you will build trust, challenge thinking, and support young people to make better decisions.
What You’ll Be Doing
You will deliver a mix of mentoring, youth work, and sport across:
* Schools and alternative provisions
* Community and outreach settings
* 1:1 mentoring and small group work
* Structured boxing and fitness sessions
You will:
* Build strong, consistent relationships with young people at risk
* Support young people with behaviour, decision-making, and emotional regulation
* Engage school refusers and those who are hardest to reach
* Use sport to teach discipline, respect, and accountability
* Deliver or support workshops on exploitation, knife crime, and personal development
* Work alongside schools, social workers, and partner agencies
* Keep clear, accurate records and contribute to impact reporting
Who This Role Is For
This role is for someone who:
* Has experience working with vulnerable or high-risk young people
* Can build trust quickly and communicate with credibility
* Is confident delivering sessions - both 1:1 and in groups
* Has a background in sport, boxing, or fitness (preferred)
* Understands safeguarding and professional boundaries
* Can stay calm, consistent, and grounded in challenging situations
What Matters Most

Driving license and access to a vehicle, preferred, but not essential.
What You’ll Gain
* The opportunity to be part of a growing, high-impact organisation
* Ongoing training (safeguarding, trauma-informed practice, behaviour, mental health)
* Regular supervision and support
* A role where your work has a direct and visible impact
