Urogynaecology Clinical Nurse Specialist
An exciting opportunity for a motivated and skilled individual to join our small, friendly team within the Women and Newborn Care group at the Princess Anne Hospital. The urogynaecology nurse‑led service supports patients with overactive bladder, urinary incontinence and pelvic floor disorders including prolapse. The service offers a wide range of investigations, treatments and care pathways.
Responsibilities
* Provide safe therapeutic management of a defined patient caseload.
* Work closely with a multi‑professional team of clinicians, physiotherapists and administrative staff.
* Conduct and participate in urodynamic clinics; undertake diagnostic urodynamic studies and deliver conservative therapies (training provided).
* Communicate effectively with patients and colleagues, demonstrating excellent communication and leadership skills.
* Support and train learners in practice, acting as a practice assessor where required.
* Work flexible within service core hours; typically see 40 patients per day.
Qualifications, Knowledge and Experience
* Registered nurse on the relevant part of the NMC register.
* Degree qualification or equivalent 120 credits at Level 6.
* Post‑registration qualification within the area of speciality or equivalent experience.
* Completion of all Band 5 (preceptorship) competencies.
* Evidence of supporting and managing a range of learners in practice.
* Evidence of supporting colleagues to promote effective learning in practice.
* Extensive post‑registration experience within a specialist area.
* Knowledge of current issues within the acute health service.
* Registered on the MSc Pathway – completion of HTPA competencies.
* Experience acting in the role of Practice Assessor or supporting the progression of learners.
* Counselling qualification.
* Palliative care course.
* IT training.
