The Role At Envitia, we’re looking for an AWS Cloud Solution Architect to join our consulting division, designing and delivering secure, scalable cloud solutions for clients across the security and intelligence sector. In this role, you’ll lead the end-to-end architecture and delivery of complex cloud solutions, combining AWS services with our in-house product suite and leading commercial technologies to meet demanding customer requirements. You’ll play a key role in shaping solution direction, influencing stakeholders, and ensuring successful delivery in environments where security, performance, and reliability are critical. Beyond client delivery, you’ll contribute to the evolution of Envitia’s technical capability, developing innovative frameworks, reusable patterns, and concept demonstrators that underpin our approach to cloud architecture and digital transformation. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced architect with a background in secure or regulated environments who is looking to take ownership, drive technical innovation, and make a meaningful impact across both client engagements and internal capability building. Job Responsibilities Gather and analyse client requirements, translating them into scalable, secure AWS-based solutions. Define and deliver technical strategies, architectures, and advisory artefacts that enable cloud adoption and organisational change. Lead the end-to-end design and delivery of modern cloud-native solution architectures across AWS services and related technologies. Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and client stakeholders to ensure successful and timely solution delivery. Provide technical leadership in architecture and design reviews, ensuring alignment with AWS best practices, security standards, and regulatory requirements. Contribute to the design and evolution of cross-cutting managed services and reusable cloud capabilities for Envitia and its clients. Stay current with AWS innovations and wider industry trends, assessing their relevance and potential value to client solutions. Ensure all solutions align with Envitia’s architecture principles, governance frameworks, and quality standards. Develop cost models, risk assessments, and business cases to support cloud adoption and investment decisions. Skills Required Essential: Strong understanding of architecture frameworks and their application within cloud-based environments. Proven experience in eliciting and managing client requirements, translating them into scalable, secure solution architectures. Expertise in AWS cloud services, with relevant AWS certifications (e.g. Solutions Architect) highly desirable. Broad knowledge of both legacy and modern technology stacks, with the ability to guide clients through cloud transformation journeys. Experience integrating AWS-native services with COTS and third-party applications within complex enterprise environments. Demonstrated experience supporting pre-sales activities, including solution shaping, bid responses, and client presentations. Desirable Any AWS Professional, Associate or Speciality Certifications Architectural certifications including TOGAF, Zachman or ArchiMate. Security Clearance Requirements The successful candidate must hold a high level of security clearance. Location It is anticipated the role will require up to 80% (4d/wk) onsite working at client location in Cheltenham, London or Manchester.
