Job Description
We are currently seeking an Operations Controller to join our Operations team at our Burton Latimer site on a full-time permanent basis.
As an Operations Controller, you will contribute to the success of the site by managing drivers and vehicles, ensuring compliance with legal requirements, vehicle roadworthiness, and EU driver regulations. You will also have some responsibility for effective site management in accordance with company policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with relevant H&S regulations.
Shift: 4 on 4 off, 18:00 - 06:00.
Salary: £34,624.51 per annum.
Key Duties of an Operations Controller include:
* Managing the outbound schedule to meet collection and delivery times.
* Issuing instructions to staff to ensure smooth inbound and outbound operations.
* Controlling outbound paperwork for accuracy.
* Managing international inbound scheduling and potential demurrage claims.
* Ensuring dispatch paperwork is complete.
* Communicating issues promptly to minimize disruptions.
* Liaising with the transport department for trailer flow.
* Participating in the operations team and suggesting improvements.
* Maintaining communication with transport providers to avoid delays.
* Providing detailed handovers to the next shift.
Qualifications
Essential:
* GCSE in Maths and English at grade 'C' or equivalent.
* 5 GCSEs at grade 'C' or equivalent.
* Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel.
* Knowledge of GTS system.
* Experience in the logistics sector.
* Knowledge of WTD and EU drivers hours regulations.
Desirable:
* Health and Safety qualification.
* CPC National Qualification.
* At least 5 years managerial experience in transport.
