Role title: Infrastructure and Cloud Services Engineer (Presales Focus)
Salary: £50,000 - £60,000 Base Plus benefits
Location: Cirencester/Hybrid (Requirements to work on site around the UK and in the office 2 days a week)
This is a full-time Infrastructure and Cloud Services Engineer role focusing on core infrastructure, Storage, Virtualisation, private Cloud (Nutanix, VMWare), Azure & Intune. The role is approximately 75% Pre-Sales and 25% Hands-On. Ideal candidates will have reseller or MSP experience and a multi-customer background.
Your pre-sales/solutions experience should include Proof of Concept (POC), Solution Design, Customer Facing, with the ability to execute full implementations when needed. The main client base is in the M4 corridor and London, with minimal travel.
The candidate should be enthusiastic, proactive, and interested in developing new technologies and skills through R&D and exploration.
As a Presales-focused Engineer, you will influence the company's technical strategy by designing scalable, resilient server, storage, and virtualization solutions. You will lead technical design and presales activities related to infrastructure solutions (compute, storage, virtualisation, hybrid cloud), supporting customer engagements involving VMware, Nutanix, and cloud services.
You will contribute to the design, deployment, and lifecycle management of customer environments, helping grow cloud and infrastructure services. There is potential for specialization into solutions architecture or technical sales leadership over time.
Ideal experience includes:
* Hands-on experience with VMware vSphere, vCenter, and related technologies
* Experience with Nutanix Enterprise Cloud platforms
* Knowledge of infrastructure sizing, HA design, backup/DR, and performance tuning
* Understanding of hybrid and private cloud designs
* Customer-facing skills to translate technical requirements into business outcomes
* Experience with Modern Workplace solutions like M365, Google Workspace, MS Intune, MDM tools
* Azure and/or AWS experience (VM provisioning, storage, networking, IAM, costs)
* Scripting and automation skills (PowerShell, Python, Ansible)
* Backup solutions experience (Veeam, Carbonite)
* Security principles related to infrastructure and cloud
* Enterprise storage technologies (SAN, NAS, HCI)
* Familiarity with containerization (Kubernetes, Tanzu, Docker) is advantageous
* Relevant certifications (VCP, NCP, Azure Administrator, AWS Solutions Architect)
