Overview
Due to the rapid and exciting growth of our internal environmental consultancy services, we're looking for a Sustainability & Climate Lead to join our team. In this role, you'll play a pivotal part in delivering a diverse range of projects across the UK, spanning the road, rail, water, and property sectors. A full driving licence is essential for this role.
Location: Nationwide – travel to sites and offices required, with remote working available. Hours: 37.5 hours per week – some flexibility on hours available if desired. Salary: £55,000 – £65,000 per year + £6.7k annual car allowance + private healthcare + benefits. We are unable to offer certificates of sponsorship to any candidates in this role.
Responsibilities
* Lead the delivery of sustainability and carbon consultancy services across a range of sectors including road, rail, water and property, growing and developing carbon and climate resilience capability within the business
* Act as a focal point for technical advice on decarbonisation strategies, aligning with carbon budgets and Net Zero goals, leading on green building certification assessments such as BREEAM, LEED, NABERS, WELL
* Conduct Whole Life Carbon Assessments (WLCA) for buildings and infrastructure and develop carbon management plans, supporting the business in maintaining PAS2080 accreditation and achieving our SBTs
* Guide and facilitate stakeholder engagement sessions and workshops promoting carbon reduction throughout all project phases
* Work collaboratively with designers, clients and supply chain, delivering training, actively promoting innovation and carbon reduction across the business, leading on bids and fee proposals, and supporting the team in facing technical challenges
What are we looking for?
This role of Sustainability & Climate Lead is great for you if:
* You have a degree in Ecology or equivalent experience, full member of ISEP (or equivalent) and CEnv
* Hold a robust understanding of UK climate legislation, policy drivers and standards, strong working knowledge of WLCA and carbon accounting utilising software such as One Click LCA (or similar)
* Experience leading green building certification systems such as BREEAM, WELL, LEED, NABERS, demonstrable experience developing carbon management strategies on a range of projects
* Relevant report writing skills including developing carbon management plans
* Experience leading a team and working collaboratively with designers
