Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Nursery Nurse to join our childcare team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for early childhood education and experience working with young children. This role offers an opportunity to support children's development in a nurturing environment, demonstrating strong management and leadership skills. The Nursery Nurse will be responsible for creating a safe, engaging, and educational atmosphere for children, fostering their social, emotional, and cognitive growth.
Responsibilities
* Supervise and care for children in the nursery setting, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times
* Plan and implement age-appropriate activities that promote learning and development
* Support children's emotional needs through nurturing interactions and positive reinforcement
* Maintain accurate records of children's progress and daily activities
* Collaborate with colleagues to organise daily routines and special events
* Communicate effectively with parents regarding their child's progress and any concerns
* Lead by example in maintaining high standards of hygiene, safety, and organisation within the nursery
* Assist with management tasks such as staff scheduling and resource organisation
* Drive nursery vehicles when necessary to facilitate outings or pick-ups/drop-offs (if qualified)
Qualifications
* Proven experience working with children in a nursery or early childhood setting
* Knowledge of childcare practices and early childhood education principles
* Strong management and leadership skills to guide team members effectively
* Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written
* Childcare qualifications recognised by relevant authorities (e.g., NVQ Level 3 in Childcare) or equivalent
* Valid driving licence preferred for roles involving transportation responsibilities
* Ability to organise tasks efficiently while maintaining a caring approach towards children
* A genuine passion for supporting children's development through engaging activities and personalised care
