Right Now Group are recruiting for an Airfreight Operator to join a leading logistics provider based in Colnbrook, near Heathrow. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced airfreight professional with a strong bias toward air export operations. You'll be managing shipments from start to finish, including pricing, customer communication, and customs clearance - within a dynamic and fast-paced environment. Experience handling perishables is beneficial but not essential. The Role - Airfreight Operator You will be primarily focused on air export operations but will also assist with imports when required. This is a start-to-finish role involving quotations, bookings, documentation, and clearance for time-sensitive shipments, ensuring smooth and efficient movement throughout the supply chain. Key Responsibilities - Airfreight Operator Handle air export shipments from origin to destination, including bookings and documentation Support air import functions when required Liaise daily with clients, airlines, and overseas agents Prepare and submit customs declarations (NES/CHIEF) Produce competitive spot quotes and pricing Track and monitor shipments, proactively updating customers Ensure documentation accuracy (AWB, MUCR, DUCR, etc.) and timely invoicing Coordinate with internal departments to ensure efficient operations Ideal Candidate - Airfreight Operator 2 years' experience in airfreight forwarding, ideally with a focus on exports Experience in handling perishable cargo is a plus, but not required Confident managing start-to-finish operational processes Skilled in completing customs declarations and working to tight deadlines Strong communication and relationship-building skills Organised, accurate, and solutions-focused Proficient in systems such as CNS, CHIEF, Destin8, or similar What's On Offer - Airfreight Operator Location : Colnbrook, near Heathrow Salary : £30,000 - £35,000 (dependent on experience) Shift : Sunday to Thursday Hours : 09:00 - 17:30 (fully office-based) Annual Leave : 30 days per year (inclusive of bank holidays) Additional Information : Permanent role within a growing team, with genuine progression opportunities.
