Safety Worxs is seeking a Spanish/English Bilingual OSHA 500 Safety Trainer to support a long-term bridge and roadway construction project in Norfolk, VA. This role requires a confident, hands-on trainer who can deliver effective classroom and field-based instruction in a fast-paced heavy civil environment.
Responsibilities:
1. Deliver confident, engaging safety orientations and onboarding training for new hires and subcontractors.
2. Be fully prepared daily to support scheduled and unscheduled training needs, including field- driven requests.
3. Collaborate with training team for hands-on and practical training sessions
4. Develop, schedule, and lead training sessions on topics including (but not limited to):
5. Fall Protection
6. Confined Space Entry (CSE)
7. Excavation and Trenching
8. Forklift and MEWP (Mobile Elevated Work Platforms)
9. Silica Awareness
10. Hazard Communication (HAZCOM)
11. First Aid/CPR
12. OSHA 10 and OSHA 30
13. Small tools and site-specific construction hazards
14. Maintain accurate training records and certifications in alignment with OSHA and company policy.
15. Perform job site visits to conduct field-based training, safety coaching, and toolbox talks.
16. Support the client representative in analyzing incident trends and identifying training needs.
17. Ensure training materials are updated regularly and reflect current regulations and client standards.
18. Assist in the development of job safety analysis (JSA) and site-specific safety plans.
19. Support audits and inspections by ensuring employee training documentation is current and accessible.
Qualifications:
20. 5+ years of safety training experience, preferably in construction or heavy civil environments
21. OSHA 500 Certification
22. Strong knowledge of OSHA 29 CFR 1926 standards and other applicable safety regulations.
23. Demonstrated ability to deliver hands-on, field-based training with confidence
24. Comfortable training on small tools and site-specific construction activities
25. Experience with adult learning principles and hands-on training delivery.
26. Proficient in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel.
27. Fluent in Spanish/English

28. Current BCSP CIT (Certified Instructional Trainer)
