Assistant Psychologist – Children in Care Services Up to £45,000 | Full-Time | Hybrid | West & South Midlands We’re working in partnership with a trauma-informed care provider to recruit an Assistant Psychologist to support their specialist therapeutic services for children and young people in care. This is a unique opportunity to work alongside senior clinicians in a service designed to help young people heal from early life trauma, including abuse, neglect, and disrupted attachments. The Role: As an Assistant Psychologist, you’ll play a vital supporting role within the clinical team, helping to deliver psychologically-informed interventions and promote emotional wellbeing across residential settings. Key responsibilities include: * Supporting the delivery of structured therapeutic programmes * Assisting with psychological assessments, data collection, and outcome reporting * Supporting reflective practice, staff debriefs, and clinical consultation processes * Helping to embed trauma-informed care approaches in daily practice * Working directly with young people in both 1:1 and group settings under supervision What We’re Looking For: * A psychology degree (essential) * Experience supporting children and/or young people, ideally in a trauma-informed or care setting * A genuine interest in clinical psychology and therapeutic approaches * Strong communication and teamwork skills * Confidence working in dynamic, emotionally complex environments * A full UK driving licence (essential) What’s on Offer: * Salary up to £45,000 depending on experience * Hybrid working (home, office, and travel to residential homes) * Ongoing supervision and CPD * The opportunity to work closely with Clinical and Forensic Psychologists * A psychologically-minded, values-led culture that prioritises staff wellbeing and development
