We are seeking an experienced IT Network Engineer responsible for designing, securing, and maintaining reliable IT networks and communications across all operations.
The position is hybrid, requiring 3 days in the office and 2 days remote, once probation is passed. Applicants should live near Exeter Airport.
Our goal is to build stable, secure, and efficient networks and systems to support the business.
Responsibilities include:
1. Designing and deploying network services per policies.
2. Monitoring and managing network communications, including routers, switches, firewalls, servers, and LAN/WAN.
3. Managing IP space, VLANs, DNS, DHCP, VPNs, and VoIP for security and optimization.
4. Applying best practices for network security.
5. Planning hardware lifecycle and emergency protocols.
6. Providing service updates and monitoring service targets.
7. Ensuring WAN bandwidth and connectivity are sufficient and resilient.
8. Researching new networking technologies for performance and security improvements.
9. Collaborating with security teams to implement security measures.
10. Maintaining asset management and documentation.
11. Supporting hardware infrastructure and backup processes.
12. Assisting in deployment and administration of hardware and software, including Active Directory and firewall management.
Person Specification:
* Relevant degree or professional certification preferred.
* Experience in secure network maintenance in a Windows environment.
* Expertise in LAN/WAN, VPN, wireless networking, with CCNA/CCNP certification required.
* Firewall management experience, preferably with FortiGate.
* Skills in Cat6, fibre, TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, Active Directory, SSL, 2FA.
* Knowledge of Windows Server, SCCM/MECM, VMware, Veaam, CrowdStrike, Cortex XDR, IP telephony, and Office 365 is advantageous.
* Strong troubleshooting and communication skills.
* Flexibility for out-of-hours work if needed.
* Driving license is a plus but not essential.
