Purpose of the role
The company is seeking a Marketing Manager to lead the planning and delivery of integrated marketing campaigns across channels, with a focus on direct mail as a core acquisition and engagement tool.
This role will balance day-to-day campaign delivery with embedding best practices in campaign planning, measurement and optimisation.
Reporting to the Membership Support Director and managing a Marketing Executive, you will work closely with the wider leadership team and the marketing function, overseeing the end-to-end campaign lifecycle from strategy to execution.
Key responsibilities
Campaign Strategy and Planning
* Lead the design, planning, and integration of campaigns across direct mail, digital (email, social, paid), and offline channels.
* Translate strategy into actionable campaign plans with clear objectives, timelines, and measures of success.
* Recommend innovative approaches to improve campaign performance.
Creative and Messaging
* Work with agencies to develop high-quality creative assets and copy.
* Adapt messaging across channels for different member segments.
* Ensure brand consistency, tone of voice, and regulatory compliance in all communications.
Channel Management
* Own and manage direct mail campaigns, ensuring targeting, creative, and measurement deliver strong results.
* Oversee digital channels including email, paid social, and CRM activity (HubSpot).
* Coordinate postal campaigns, events, and member communications.
Performance Measurement and Reporting
* Establish and embed campaign measurement frameworks, dashboards, and reporting tools.
* Monitor, analyse, and optimise campaign performance across all channels.
* Share insights to drive continuous improvement and demonstrate ROI.
Team Management and Collaboration
* Line manage and develop the Marketing Executive.
* Set and monitor performance objectives, ensuring high standards of delivery.
* Foster collaboration across marketing, agencies, and wider teams.
Cross-Functional and External Collaboration
* Work with Membership Support, Operations, and Finance teams to align campaigns with business priorities.
* Manage agency relationships to ensure quality and value for money.
* Champion marketing activity and results within the organisation.
Skills and experience required
* Direct Mail Expertise: Proven experience in planning and delivering impactful postal campaigns.
* Integrated Marketing: Strong track record in managing campaigns across multiple channels (digital, offline).
* Creative & Messaging Skills: Experience developing and adapting content and messaging for diverse audiences.
* Campaign Measurement & Analytics: Ability to design and implement measurement frameworks, optimise campaigns, and report performance.
* CRM & Marketing Automation: Comfortable working with HubSpot or similar platforms for campaign management and segmentation.
* Team Leadership: Experience managing, developing, and motivating team members.
* Stakeholder Management: Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate across functions.
* Hands-On & Strategic Balance: Able to execute campaigns while embedding best practices and driving transformation.
