Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Maintenance Person to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our facilities through effective maintenance and repair of equipment and systems. This role requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and a commitment to maintaining high standards of safety and efficiency.
Duties
* Perform routine maintenance on equipment, including troubleshooting and repairs.
* Maintain all equiptment, tools and plant in a safe and good codition, liasing with external suppliers and services where necessary.
* Maintain the school grounds to a high standard, ensuring the grounds are litter free.
* Maintain and document scheduled health and safety checks.
* Deliver excellent customer service by responding promptly to maintenance requests from our staff.
* Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including inspections, repairs, and replacements.
Experience
Proven experience in maintenance roles, with the ability to carry out DIY tasks, having previously worked within a school would be an advantage.

Barn School is part of Treehouse Educare Ltd., which consists of our school and two children's homes. We are registered for children aged and currently have 80 children on roll with development plans in place to exceed to 120. New Barn School has been awarded Autism Accreditation by The National Autistic Society, the UK's leading charity for people on the autism spectrum and their families.
barn School is a special school that caters for students with high-functioning autism and associated difficulties. All of our pupils have an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP).
Barn School is a purpose-built facility with the interior designed by architects experienced in creating spaces for people on the autism spectrum. The modern building enables us to offer a broad, balanced, engaging and challenging curriculum that will provide the greatest opportunities for successful outcomes for our students.
The main building, which extends across two floors, incorporates six classrooms as well as a science room, food technology room, ICT suite, art studio, hall, intervention room, 1:1 room, first-aid room, kitchen, dining room and offices. There is also a sports hall and a separate building for vocational skills (including a music room).
We have been open since January 2017 and have received our OFSTED inspection which rated us a GOOD school in 2022. We are proud of our pupils and all that they achieve on a regular basis at Newbarn and we are excited for the future success we will experience.
We have dedicated and well-trained staff who are supported by an excellent senior leadership team and together with pupils, parents and families, aim to provide exceptional outcomes for young people.
