We’re looking for enthusiastic Bank Teaching Assistants to join our team and help pupils thrive at Hambrook School.
About the Role
As a Bank Teaching Assistant at Hambrook School, you’ll help pupils thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. This is more than a support role — it’s your chance to make a meaningful difference in the lives of children with additional needs.
Key responsibilities:
* Support pupils individually and in groups with literacy, numeracy, communication, and social skills
* Assist teachers with planning and delivering lessons and activities
* Implement positive behaviour strategies and maintain a calm classroom environment
* Prepare resources and support trips and school activities
* Maintain records of pupil progress and behaviour
* Supervise pupils during breaks and lunch
Who We’re Looking For
We are seeking calm, compassionate, and proactive individuals committed to supporting pupils with autism and complex needs.
Essential qualities and experience:
* Experience in educational, childcare, or SEN settings
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills
* Ability to remain calm under pressure and respond positively to challenging behaviour
* A team player with a collaborative mindset and willingness to learn

Hambrook School is an independent specialist school in Burgess Hill, West Sussex, for pupils aged 5–18 with autism and an EHCP.
Opened in 2023 and rated ‘Good’ by Ofsted, we provide a structured, safe and nurturing environment. Small classes and highly personalised programmes enable pupils to engage, progress and enjoy learning. Through rich curriculum experiences and bespoke support, we help every young person achieve their full potential.
For over 19 years, Options Autism has provided specialist care and education for children, young people, and adults with autism, complex needs, and learning difficulties.
