To undertake commercial property management functions and transactions such as management, reviews, lettings, leases, licenses, rent reviews, acquisitions, disposals, wayleaves, easements, and valuations for the Council's owned and leased land and property portfolio. To ensure legislative compliance and professional delivery of all functions and transactions.
An exciting opportunity has become available to work within the Estates Service in the Place Directorate. The position is for 1 FTE (37 hours) per week.
About you
We are ideally looking for a Chartered Estates Surveyor with significant broad experience in managing a diverse portfolio and undertaking property functions including management, lettings, valuation (including asset valuation), disposal, and acquisition (including CPO). Ideally with some development experience, handling high levels of complexity and with a successful track record.
You must enjoy the challenge of ensuring that optimum value is realized from an existing portfolio and be capable of identifying opportunities for process improvement and increased efficiencies in current practices.
You must be an effective and articulate communicator at all levels and have a strong understanding of the drivers behind public sector asset management issues.
The successful candidate will have:
* Estate Management/Property Management Degree plus MRICS
* At least 5 years post-qualification experience
* Knowledge and experience to fulfill the essential criteria in the Job Description and Specification
* High interpersonal skills
* The ability to communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders
* A flexible approach to work
* Willingness and ability to travel across the Borough
