Job Description
We are seeking a Technical Manager with experience in the Industrial Automation domain to join our engineering team based in Banbury, UK. The role involves managing engineering activities related to Controls Hardware and Software, ensuring timely delivery within scope, quality, and budget, and adhering to standards.
The responsibilities include estimating and managing project risks, planning, scheduling, and acting as the primary contact for controls engineering. The role covers the full project cycle from sales to engineering to handover.
Key Responsibilities
* Support sales with technical advice, estimation, scheduling, and skill set requirements.
* Improve engineering processes and documentation.
* Ensure resource availability with the right skills.
* Act as main controls engineering contact for project stakeholders.
* Lead project teams, manage project reports, forecasts, and schedules.
* Manage project risks and ensure quality gates are met.
* Conduct safety audits and propose improvements.
* Support lessons learned and project closure activities.
* Ensure timely delivery of installation documentation.
Work Experience & Qualifications
* Degree in a technical engineering discipline.
* Experience in project engineering, budgeting, planning, and risk management.
* Experience in industrial automation, PLC, and control systems.
* Knowledge of ISO standards and safety standards like Machinery Directive.
* Willingness to travel approximately 50%.
* Strong communication, organization, and proactive skills.
* Familiarity with MS Project, JIRA, and related tools.
Nice-to-Have Skills
* JIRA proficiency.
