About the Role
Surrey Online School maintains a strong commitment to delivering high-quality customer service and demonstrates a commercial approach that supports our objective of offering a broad spectrum of live online lessons to children and young people across Surrey. This guiding principle is fundamental to our organisation, ensuring that service excellence consistently underpins our work with schools, families, and students.
The Programme and Learning Coordinator plays a central part in the daily operations of Surrey Online School (SOS), a traded, front-line service. In this dynamic position, you will provide high-quality, timely responses to enquiries from schools, council services, and families, working to deliver solutions for children to access education.
A key aspect of this role is the proficient and efficient use of internal IT systems and databases. Harnessing technology—especially data analysis tools and SharePoint—is essential for managing enquiries, tracking outcomes, and ensuring smooth collaboration with colleagues and partners.
Your role involves developing and securing strong relationships with colleagues and partners in schools and education settings in Surrey, as well as children and families, ensuring that the services we deliver have a tangible impact on better outcomes for children and young people accessing SOS. You may be required to visit students at home or attend meetings in schools as part of the role. You will work closely with our commissioned lesson provider, including leaders, teachers, and SENCOs (Special Educational Needs Co-ordinator), to find innovative solutions that inspire and create opportunities for success. You will be the Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) for Surrey Online School, taking lead responsibility for safeguarding and oversight for attendance.
