Depot Operations Manager – Skegness & Spalding
Stagecoach East Midlands is part of one of the UK’s largest bus operators, employing 1,500 staff across 10 depots and running 480 buses on a mix of urban, rural, and coastal services throughout East Yorkshire, Lincolnshire, Nottinghamshire, Derbyshire, South Yorkshire, and Norfolk. We’re proud to be an integral part of the communities we serve, connecting people with places across our 20 million annual miles of bus services.
We’ve got a fantastic operations team across our Skegness and Spalding depots, and we’re now looking for a Depot Operations Manager to lead and support them in delivering outstanding service to our customers.
What you’ll be doing:
You’ll be responsible for the leadership, performance, development, and welfare of over 130 drivers across both depots. You’ll help plan and deliver a cost-effective, customer-focused day-to-day operation. With your strong interpersonal skills, you’ll build relationships internally and externally, developing effective connections with key stakeholders.
Skegness isn’t just a depot—it’s home to the famous Skegness Seasiders, our award-winning open-top buses that bring holidaymakers and families to life’s best moments. From Easter through to October, characters like Rocky, Shelly, Candy, and Salty cruise the coast, stopping at top attractions like Fantasy Island, Hardy’s Animal Farm, and Chapel St Leonards. These buses aren’t just transport—they’re part of the seaside magic, and you’ll be helping make sure they run smoothly, safely, and with a smile.
You’ll work closely with the Engineering Manager to ensure operational success and report directly to the Operations Director.
There’s also huge personal satisfaction in contributing ideas to grow our business and creating a fantastic working environment for your team.
What you’ll need:
You’ll either be a current Operations Manager ready for a new challenge or an Assistant Operations Manager looking to take the next step. You’ll have a CPC Level 3 qualification or be willing to work towards it. You’ll need to be an effective communicator and confident leader, with a working knowledge of allocation systems and relevant legislation. Strong communication skills are essential – you’ll be engaging with people at all levels and building strong relationships across the business.
What we can offer you:
* A competitive salary
* 25 days annual leave
* Free travel for you and a family member
* Pension scheme
* Discounts at many retail outlets
