Community Wellbeing Shed Development Coordinator
Place of work: Cirencester/On site as required
Reporting to: Chief Executive Officer
We are seeking a friendly, enthusiastic, and motivated Shed Development Coordinator to join our Community Wellbeing Service supporting people, especially men, through our Sheds Project. This supports individuals who are socially isolated, experiencing mental challenges, have on-going health issues and are long term unemployed.
The Sheds Project is well established and offers a space where people can build confidence, learn practical skills, and take part in meaningful, community-led projects. Some participants are starting with very little confidence or experience, while others are ready for more structured roles and responsibilities. A strong culture of volunteering is emerging, with a shift towards a more sustainable, participant-led approach. We now need a dedicated coordinator to support this development – someone who can work alongside people, help them take on more active roles, and make sure the project continues to grow in a meaningful and inclusive way.
This role suits someone experienced in supporting people facing challenges and barriers, with confidence in building trust. An understanding of mental health—especially men’s mental health—and its impact on engagement is important. A background in mental health or working with men is an advantage. While experience managing projects and working with volunteers is helpful, it is not essential. You’ll need a hands-on, flexible approach, the ability to work well within a team, and the initiative to be resourceful and adaptable. Strong administration and IT skills are also required.
