Job Description:
Are you an experienced care professional ready to take the next step? We’re looking for a Senior Care Worker for a 1-year temporary position, who’s passionate about supporting others – both the people we care for and the team you’ll be working alongside.
In this vital role, you’ll help lead the day-to-day running of our service, ensuring that every shift runs smoothly and that our high standards of care are always met. You’ll take responsibility for managing medication, allocating tasks, supporting care planning, and stepping in for senior staff when needed. You’ll be part of a supportive leadership team that helps things run safely, efficiently, and with heart.
You’ll also support and supervise other team members, offering guidance, encouragement, and training where needed. You’ll help maintain safe staffing levels, contribute to quality improvement, and ensure our service users receive the best care in a warm, respectful environment.
You should be confident using digital systems to keep records and complete training, and comfortable contributing to team meetings and development discussions. It’s important that you live out our Christian ethos through kindness, compassion, and respect for each person’s individuality – supporting service users in worship or spiritual practices meaningful to them.
Requirements include an SVQ Level 3 in Social Care, with willingness to undertake further qualifications if needed. The role includes occasional sleep-in duties.
If you want a role where your experience and leadership make a difference and you’re eager to support others while growing professionally, we’d love to hear from you.
We offer benefits like retail and leisure discounts, a contributory pension plan, death in service benefit, family-friendly policies, health cash plans, and a care concierge service. We also support your professional development through contributions to membership fees and training opportunities.
CrossReach has been providing high-quality social care for over 150 years, supporting people of all ages and circumstances. As part of the Church of Scotland, we aim to deliver services in Christ’s name to those in challenging circumstances.
This role requires you to have a Christian faith and uphold our Christian Ethos, as it is an Occupational Requirement under the Equality Act 2010. Additionally, you must be a member of the PVG Scheme, registered with SSSC, and legally permitted to work in the UK. We are committed to diversity and inclusion, valuing every individual’s background, experience, and ability.
