Pharmacy colleague

Hartlepool
Asda Stores Ltd.
Posted: 19 August
Offer description

As a pharmacy colleague, you will work on the counter serving customers and patients, entering invoices, date checking, PI checks, assigning completed prescriptions, and completing end-of-day procedures. Inside the pharmacy, you will be trained to dispense, accuracy check, and complete end-of-month tasks. To be employed in this role, you must pass an enhanced safeguarding check.

Our stores operate 24 hours per day, 7 days per week, offering a variety of shift patterns. If you're seeking flexible working to fit your lifestyle, this role may be suitable. We will work with you on your shifts, but weekend working is a requirement, and flexibility with your work pattern may be necessary.

Our in-store pharmacies are popular with customers, who expect the same warmth and friendliness as in the rest of the store. You'll need to be confident and relaxed discussing personal health issues, resolving customer problems quickly, and guiding customers to the right products.

You will be responsible for accurately assembling and processing prescriptions. Additionally, you'll promote awareness of pharmacy services such as Prescription Collection, Medicines Use Reviews, and support the delivery and record-keeping of patient services like blood pressure checks and smoking cessation schemes. You'll develop an understanding of Standard Operating Procedures and adhere to them, ensuring excellent customer service.

You may also collect prescriptions from doctors' surgeries on behalf of customers and bring them to the store for collection.

We will support your development through training to become a qualified Medicine Counter Assistant within 6 months, followed by training as a Dispensing Assistant to advance your pharmacy career. Each step will add value to our service and help you progress professionally.

About You

You're naturally friendly, highly organized, and eager to contribute. You have good computer skills, attention to detail, and communicate well with customers. You enjoy problem-solving, are passionate about helping people, and care about providing a great healthcare experience by assisting customers in finding what they need and engaging in friendly conversations.

Working Hours

Our hours are 09:00 to 20:00 Monday to Saturday and 10:00 to 16:00 on Sundays. We will work with you on your shifts, but late and weekend work are required. Flexibility with your work pattern may be needed.

We will train you to be a dispensing assistant and will gain a Buttercups qualification.
