We are a small but highly professional team based in Exeter. Our customers have worked with us for nearly 30 years now, this due to our exceptional customer service and ethos. We are a close team and worked hard for each other as well as for the company. Our current drivers have all worked for us for between 5 to 20 years, we like to think this because we are ace to work for!
A typical day starts at 08.00 and ends at 15.30. Sometimes less, sometimes more at busy periods. We don't do staggered starts throughout the day. We like to start as early possible so we get home as early as possible.
Responsibilities:
- Safely and efficiently operate a company 3.5 ton van to deliver packages to customers
- Communicate with customers and office staff to ensure timely and accurate delivery
- Load and unload packages from the van, including heavy lifting when necessary
- Follow delivery schedules and route
- Adhere to all traffic laws and regulations while driving
- Maintain a clean and organized van, ensuring that all necessary equipment is in working order
- Complete necessary paperwork and documentation for each delivery
-Ability to complete 50-80 stops a day.
Qualifications:
- Valid UK drivers licence (3years or more) no more than 6 points and be over 25 years old (due to insurance policy)
- Previous experience as a delivery driver or in a similar role preferred
- Ability to communicate effectively with customers and team members
- Strong attention to detail and time management skills
- Have a good level of fitness and ability to lift heavy packages when required
- Familiarity with commercial driving regulations and safety standards
- Knowledge of Torbay and Teignbridge area preferred but full training will be given
-Own personal transport to get to our depot in Exeter. (Option to commute in our vans after a good grace period.)
We will supply van (after good grace period,) fuel and full uniform
We can arrange a PAID ride along day with an experienced driver, so you can see if the role is suited to you before you commit to it.
A FULL paid week of training will be given before you are required to go solo.
