A high-growth UK Real Estate & Managed Operations firm is seeking a Lead Network Engineer to take technical ownership of a vast, multi-site pan-European estate. Managing over 3 million sq ft of premium commercial property, this organization provides mission‑critical infrastructure to thousands of business tenants, from agile tech startups to global enterprise brands.
The Lead Network Engineer's Role:
This is a high‑impact, hands‑on leadership position reporting to the Director of Technology Infrastructure. You will be responsible for the end‑to‑end design and management of a complex, hybrid environment that bridges high‑end physical workspaces with robust cloud architecture.
The successful candidate will lead the strategy for multi‑tenant network segmentation, ensuring that thousands of diverse clients receive secure, high‑performance connectivity tailored to their specific corporate requirements.
* Infrastructure Design: Lead the configuration and maintenance of enterprise‑grade Cisco and Meraki stacks (routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless) across a vast multi‑site estate.
* Multi‑Tenant Architecture: Engineer sophisticated per‑building segmentation and customer‑specific VPNs, providing bespoke security and performance for high‑profile corporate tenants.
* Hybrid Cloud Integration: Act as the subject matter expert for Azure networking, managing VNets, NSGs, ExpressRoute, and Load Balancers to ensure seamless hybrid connectivity.
* Security & Compliance: Enforce a "security‑first" mindset by managing firewalls, intrusion detection, and vulnerability assessments in alignment with ISO 27001 and GDPR frameworks.
* Performance Optimization: Use enterprise tooling (SolarWinds, Azure Monitor, Meraki Dashboard) to proactively troubleshoot and optimize for high availability and 99.9% uptime.
* Stakeholder & Vendor Collaboration: Work closely with Cloud, Data, and Infrastructure squads while managing relationships with third‑party MSPs and connectivity providers.
* Experience: 7+ years in Network Engineering, with a proven track record of owning solutions within a multi‑site, tenanted, or hospitality‑driven organization.
* Technical Mastery: Expert knowledge of IP networking, SD‑WAN, sub‑netting, and complex segment distribution.
* Vendor Expertise: Deep hands‑on experience with the Cisco Meraki ecosystem and Azure Native networking (Virtual WAN, Azure Firewall, WAF).
* Hybrid Specialist: Demonstrated success in designing and implementing hybrid on‑premises and cloud infrastructures.
* Communication: A strong, inclusive communicator capable of translating complex technical network diagrams into business‑ready insights for senior leadership.
* Qualifications: CCNP/CCNA (Enterprise/Security), Meraki Specialist, or Azure Network Engineer Associate certifications are strongly preferred.
