What You'll Be Doing as a Shift Engineer (electrical bias):
1. Maintaining and Optimising: Conduct planned and reactive maintenance across the site, ensuring safety and accuracy. Proactively identify and implement improvements to enhance machine reliability and performance.
2. Troubleshooting and Repairing: Diagnose and resolve equipment breakdowns efficiently to keep automated systems running smoothly and safely.
3. Data Analysis and Reporting: Monitor and analyze data to identify trends, improve MHE performance, and maintain detailed records of work activities, parts used, and training.
4. Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with Inbound, Outbound, and support teams, effectively communicating with colleagues and external contractors.
5. Continuous Improvement: Contribute to developing maintenance systems, propose innovative ideas, and participate in projects to enhance warehouse and engineering functions.
6. Safety and Standards: Ensure all maintenance activities are conducted safely and to high standards, maintaining a clean and organized work environment.
7. Team Development: Assist in developing team skills and knowledge sharing to foster continuous improvement.
What We're Looking For:
* A strong technical background in automation hardware and software, demonstrated by:
* HNC Engineering or equivalent, or
* A relevant Degree with applied learning, or
* An Engineering Technician Apprenticeship, or
* Manufacturers PLC training, or
* Electrical and/or mechanical skills (NVQ Level 3 or equivalent), ideally gained in an FMCG environment.
* Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to convey technical information clearly.
* Excellent organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
* Familiarity with Control Systems (desirable).
* Self-motivation, consistency, and the ability to work at pace.
* Computer literacy and experience with Computerised Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
* Physical fitness to safely perform engineering maintenance activities.
* Proficient English skills for understanding safety information and technical manuals.
* Experience in an Engineering Service Support role within an automated production environment.
