Salary: £34,434 per annum (pro rata for part time)

Hours: 37 Hours Per Week Flexible working options available

Contract: Fixed Term (Up to 31st March 2028)

Your role and responsibilities

You will:

* build effective relationships with partners and community groups and organisations across Suffolk
* chair the community resilience working group providing administrative support, point of contact for multiagency liaison and assistance
* liaison with partner agencies to collate information around community resilience activities across all partners within the SRF and beyond
* lead the community resilience working group
* support the Suffolk Voluntary Community Sector Emergencies Partnership (VCSEP), proactively engage and recruit members to the group
* proactively seek training opportunities for voluntary and community sector with CAS
* attend national, regional and local community resilience forums
* attend partner community resilience group meetings providing a link between groups to ensure a streamlined approach to community resilience
* co-design education programmes and work with communications and community officers across the SRF and CAS to develop education around enhancing resilience across communities
* consider ways to evaluate community resilience success with data analysts
* support community engagement events such as Suffolk Show and others


You will need

* An interest in communities and improving community resilience.
* A desire to learn and expand your knowledge around multiagency working and enhancing resilience of communities.
* Great organisational skills and be self-motivated.
* Ability to work under pressure, through quieter periods and to work with confidence.
* Great communication skills and empathy; liaison with a wide range of partners and complex work streams.
* Experience of project management with flexibility to adapt to changing timelines (Desirable).

The team

Your role will sit within the Voluntary and Community Action team at CAS, giving access to resources, tools, intelligence and specialist networks relating to the Voluntary Community Faith Sector Enterprise (VCFSE) sector across Suffolk. You’ll be supported by colleagues and management experienced in working with the sector.

The SRF team’s primary objective is to support partner agencies to be compliant with the Civil Contingencies Act (2004). The team is hosted by Suffolk Fire and Rescue Service and is expanding; it is transitioning to a new structure with strategic leadership from the Chief Resilience Officer (CRO).

All roles are on the SRF on-call rota to provide support to major incidents in Suffolk and to support the county Tactical and Strategic Coordination function and the Multi Agency Information Cell.

The main partnership work is carried out on the Working on Wednesday WoW days (normally hosted at Police Headquarters) and Tuesdays are team working days usually based at Endeavour House.
