What's involved with this role: JOB TITLE: Surveyor REF: Bristol 5283827 Pay rate: £213.36 per day PAYE, DOE Contract Type: Temporary, Anticipated 1 to 2 months, TBC Working Arrangement: Hybrid working, 3 days surveying / 2 days at home The role: On behalf of a local council, we are seeking a RICS or Associated RICS Surveyor to work on the Right to Buy Applications. The team need someone with experience of the right to buy application process and who has property valuation experience also. Key Responsibilities may include: Manage and assess Right to Buy applications from initial enquiry through to valuation. Undertake property inspections and valuations, ensuring compliance with all statutory requirements and council procedures. Provide professional advice on valuation, property condition, and eligibility criteria linked to RTB legislation. Prepare clear, accurate reports and documentation to support decision-making. Liaise with internal housing teams, legal services, and applicants to ensure an efficient and transparent process. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of RTB legislation, valuation methodologies, and housing policy. What the client is looking for: RICS or Associate RICS qualified (essential). Proven experience working within a Right to Buy environment for a local authority or similar organisation. Strong background in residential property valuation and building surveying. Excellent communication skills and the ability to explain complex information clearly. Organised, professional, and able to manage a busy caseload with accuracy and efficiency.
