Role Overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 8a Hounslow Liaison Psychiatry Team Manager, based at West Middlesex University Hospital. This key leadership role within Hounslow Local Services at West London NHS Trust provides visible, compassionate operational and clinical management to a highly skilled multidisciplinary liaison team, supporting early, proactive intervention for individuals experiencing a first episode of psychosis.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide day‑to‑day operational and clinical leadership for the Hounslow Liaison Psychiatry team.
* Ensure safe, timely and person‑centred responses to referrals from the Emergency Department and inpatient wards for people aged 16 and above.
* Oversee performance against commissioned standards, including response times, quality indicators and activity targets, using data to monitor and improve service delivery.
* Line‑manage and supervise multidisciplinary staff, including the Team Lead, Band 6 clinicians and specialist practitioners.
* Manage budget, workforce planning and service development.
* Lead local governance and quality improvement work, contributing to Serious Incident reviews and clinical governance.
* Maintain a small proportion of frontline clinical activity to stay close to day‑to‑day practice.
* Collaborate closely with Hounslow borough leadership, acute Trust partners and community teams to support seamless care pathways and effective cross‑borough learning.
Key Qualifications
* Band 7 experience in liaison psychiatry or an equivalent crisis pathway with substantial operational leadership experience.
* Values‑driven clinician able to lead a busy service, support staff wellbeing and deliver high‑quality, recovery‑focused care.
* Experience in managing multidisciplinary teams, budget and workforce planning.
* Strong data‑driven approach to monitoring service performance and continuous improvement.
Contract Details
The post is offered as a 12‑month secondment for internal applicants and as a 12‑month fixed‑term contract for external applicants.
